Earth Hour Global Media Press Conference 2014

The world’s largest movement for the planet, has launched its 2014 campaign on the back of record environmental outcomes it achieved in 2013.

Charmaine hosted the media launch of the environmental campaign “Earth Hour” for the second time on 5 March 2014 at the ArtScience Museum in Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

All eyes was on Singapore for Earth Hour 2014 now that Spidey and company are Singapore-bound for this year’s Earth Hour on 29 March at 8pm.

Its organisers, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) operated in Sydney since it organised the world’s first Earth Hour in 2007, and shifted its headquarters in June 2012 to Singapore, where it has worked from since.

Earth Hour 2014 started its plans with the “Use Your Power” campaign earlier this month, launching an ongoing short-film and Instagram competition for students and budding young filmmakers. The competition will culminate in the star-studded event on 29 March, which highlights the Spidey at 8pm at The Float @ Marina Bay. The superhero himself will swoop by to help switch the lights off around the entire area for the hour.

Its first Earth Hour was held in 2009, making this the sixth year Singapore is observing Earth Hour — and this year, its sixth, promises to be its most watched one ever.
