Emcee Singapore: Social Mobility

Access Social Mobility Summit

Emcee Singapore: Charmaine kept the audience engaged in discussions on the diverse dimensions of social mobility, inspired by the thought-provoking fireside chat with Minister Chan Chun Sing and opening address by Access Patron, Minister of State Alvin Tan.

Mr Chan explained how Singapore’s education system destigmatizes differences and empowers individuals to pursue diverse pathways to break the cycle of inequality.

Mr Tan emphasized that mentoring is key to open doors for opportunities and highlighted that Access Singapore has unlocked doors for more than 1,000 students.

The key takeaways of the three panel discussions were:

  • Shifting mindsets and redefining success, and
  • Inclusive practices that make the company purposeful and thereby more attractive to the best talents, and ultimately, a virtuous cycle ensues.
