Grand Opening of Hovoh Bugis
Emcee Singapore: Charmaine hosted the grand opening of Hovoh Bugis, a coliving, sustainable accommodation offering in an iconic and historical building, that is home to arts, culture, food & beverage and Singapore’s signature multiculturalism and eclecticism.
Guest of honour, Dr. Teo Ho Pin, credited HOVOH for their efforts in bringing out the heritage charm of the building, deliberate enhancement of the French windows, historical architecture and embracing the primary structure.
It was valuable to hear the views of the panel of judges, of whom Dr Teo was one of the judges, on what made Hovoh stand out as the Best Co-living Space at the Asia Property Award Competition.
The serviced apartments, which were once commercial offices and salons on levels 2 & 3 of the pre-war shop house, has been transformed into 30 service apartment homes within the charming Bugis precinct.
Wendy Yap, founder of HOVOH, shared that HOVOH draws inspiration from the concept of the egg, “ovo” means egg, and the ‘h’s on either side represents its expertise in harmonising ‘hospitality’ and ‘homes’.
She went on to explain Hovoh’s commitment to its brand values of essentiality, sustainability and a complete home to the next generation of tenants. These will likely resonate with tenants who are looking for accommodations that align with their own values and priorities.
And in June 2023, HOVOH will be contributing to the cultural vibrancy of the community by dedicating a portion of its space to initiate semi-annual programs to promote local talents in the Bugis Bras Basah (bbb) arts precinct.
