SG Mental Well Being: Reflections Of 99 Singaporeans

Emcee Singapore: Charmaine was featured on SG Mental Well Being Network social media coverage of ‘Reflections of 99 Singaporeans’, including Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth and Trade and Industry and Sun Xueling, Minister of State for Social and Family Development and Home Affairs, as well as Member of Parliament Tin Pei Ling.

Charmaine advocated that we may feel good today and not great tomorrow and that’s ok. “To me, it is a journey, and we shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves.”

99 Singaporeans sat down with the SG Mental Well-being Network and reflected on their darkest moments. Some defined it in their younger days, while others went through it as they grew older. Everyone has a story, he/she could be going through some challenges which we are not aware of and is overcoming the difficult period with the support of their friends, families and loved ones.

“Treat yourself as you would treat your own best friend. You wouldn’t say mean things to your best friend … and you wouldn’t be mean to your best friend. So similarly, if you see yourself as your own best friend, you will learn to be kinder to yourself too.”
