World Autism Day
Emcee Singapore: World Autism Day on 2 April is an important opportunity to raise awareness about autism and promote acceptance and inclusion of people with autism. It is a chance to educate people about the strengths and challenges of individuals on the spectrum, and to advocate for practices that support their well-being.
In addition to promoting awareness and understanding, there are many practical steps that communities can take to be more inclusive of people with autism.
Emcee Singapore Charmaine’s family is thankful that he is gainfully employed in a public healthcare entity for more than eight years. His workplace provides accommodation such as sensory-friendly workspaces and his job coach provides communication support to help him adapt to the work requirements and environment.
For Charmaine, her brother has taught her endless lessons on love, kindness, honesty, empathy and especially punctuality. He always reminds her in his own ways to just “give that little bit more”.
Over the years, her family has navigated through challenges together and provided the best care and support possible as a team to ensure his well-being and happiness. ✨
Autism can present unique challenges for individuals and their families, but with understanding, patience, love and support, people with autism can live fulfilling lives and contribute positively to society.
Let’s continue to work towards a more inclusive and supportive society for all individuals, regardless of their abilities or differences.
Thank you for sharing Emcee Singapore Charmaine’s journey with her kor and for shining light on #worldautismday, @kindnesssg.
Family IS everything ❤️
